Christine Phung showcased her AW15 collection on jour 1 of Paris Fashion Week at the Institut du Monde Arabe.
Titled Glitchology Phung says, according to Reuters, her collection is “inspired by digital glitches and bugs which aggravate the public but which create moments of beauty in the modern world.”
In traditional Christine Phung style, the looks were a combination of elegance and sport. Her fluid use of analogous colors combined to create digital glitch effects over delicate contemporary styles making her collection fit for the goddess of the future.
This was Phung’s seventh collection in her neo self-titled women’s wear line, which she founded in 2011; but she is not a new designer. Over the last 10 years she has designed for companies such as See by Chloe, Baby Dior, Vanessa Bruno, Christophe Lemaire, Lacoste and Veja.
“The woman I dress is an explorer. She constantly wanders in new places and new spaces; among which is the digital space, which does not scare her, for she lives between digital and reality. Therefore what she wants is a wearable but creative outfit that plays with futuristic codes, assertively but with no excess.” – Christine Phung
