In an innovative way Nicolas Ghesquière created the exhibition “Series 2” to show off Louis Vuitton’s spring collection in Los Angeles. On the brand’s website it’s described as “a presentation of the timeless inspirations behind a new collection”. Louis Vuitton had already released a trailer for the spring fashion campaign. With the exhibition opening shortly after – the attention around “Series 2” hasn’t stopped.
On February 6th the exhibition had its opening night with celebrities like Alexa Chung, Michelle Williams, Rosamund Pike and Catherine Deneuve showing their support. According to Women’s Wear Daily the exhibition was set up with different themes in different rooms. The rooms created an experience of seeing the spring 2015 show, both from the front row and backstage.
Ghesquière told Style.com his reason for creating the exhibition…
“A fashion show is so important, and now with digital, every image goes very quickly and everyone can see it. But to experience this process a bit deeper is very difficult, and I thought this show could give that experience to a larger public.”
“Series 2” is open for everyone, so if you’re lucky enough to live near Los Angeles check it out at 1135 North Highland Avenue before February 22nd. And for the rest of us; let’s hope it’ll be held in our city soon. Beijing is next, so there’s still hope.
