Last weekend I was in Rome visiting some family. A trendy city similar to Paris, I found their style to be just as much on point. One trend that definitely was apparent was the backpack. A few weeks ago we all saw the hype of the Chanel graffiti backpack, which definitely has contributed to its popularity. In addition to this overpriced piece, there are more simple styles walking the streets, worn by people raging in age from 18 and older. But what I found to be even more ironic was a backpack that was being worn by my cousin’s 3.5-year-old son. He was sporting an Fjäll Räven backpack, which retails at a whopping $55. This hefty price for a toddlers backpack, used to hold his Legos, is still something that I have a hard time wrapping my head around, but at least he is in style. Needless to say, the backpack in trending. I saw them in both Rome and see them regularly in Paris. Makes me wonder if the fanny pack is next to make a comeback.
