What Not to Wear

Let’s talk about the gym. Specifically the gyms in Paris and some of the questionable attire that I see frequenting these facilities. I am a member of Aqua Boulevard, a massive structure with a water park (more or less), movie theater, restaurants, AND a gym. Every kids dream. So when I am taking a jog on the treadmill or doing some weights in the weight room I often note peoples attire, as some of it is rather shocking. As an avid gym-goer for most of my life, I always strive for comfort, IE. Spandex. I prefer black, but have been starting to get into patterns as well. A colored sneaker is always a fun element to throw in with your outfit. However, my gym outfits appear to be not the norm here. I have noted people sporting items like crop sweaters, capri wind breaker pants, LOAFERS, Vans sneakers for jogging, leg warmers, and even a dress worn over petal pushers. While I consider all of these to look semi outrageous, I often find myself wondering how these things could be comfortable? Aren’t you hot in that crop sweater? Or, don’t your knees hurt after running 4 miles in loafers or Vans? My imagination runs wild with questions regarding people’s fashion choices for the gym. I have to say that these looks are also entertaining, and sometimes I take the time to scope out interesting outfits as a tactic to help pass time during my dreaded 40-minute cardio. But in all seriousness, maybe there should be a little clothing requirement or forbidden sign at the entrance to get the message across that some of these things are just not acceptable. Check out some of the stellar looks I captured in top secret below:
