In collaboration with Eco-Age, luxury jewelry company Chopard has accepted the Green Carpet Challenge (GCC®). Using material gained through FAIRMINED sourcing by artisanal and small-scale miners in Latin America, Chopard has created the Green Carpet Collection composed of several brilliantly stunning pieces that have since been worn on the red carpet.
All pieces of the collection are made from Fairmined gold and responsibly sourced diamonds, accredited by the Responsible Jewellery Council (a non-profit organization that ensures an international standard on responsible business practices for diamonds, gold and platinum group metals through a code of practices that addresses human rights, labor rights, environmental impact, mining practices, product disclosure, provenance claims and chain of custody certification).
“We consider it our responsibility to protect the natural world that provides the materials that we rely on for our own success, and to ensure the well-being of the people and communities that are essential parts of our supply chain.” — Chopard Website
Below are some pieces that have been worn as recently as the 2014 Golden Globes and BAFTA award ceremonies.
Launched in 2009, the (GCC®) is an initiative that has propelled sustainable luxury into the spotlight by partnering with luxury brands and celebrities to promote sustainable fashion and accessories at high profile celebrity events such as the Oscars, Golden Globes and BAFTA.
