This story proves that anything is possible.
Last night while I was perusing the Internet and catching up on the news I stumbled upon an article about a 10-year-old girl named Josie, from Michigan, who started a leggings line that allows customers to mix and match patterns and colors.
The company is called Oppos and allows girls to design their own leggings through their website. Their tag line is “Do both legs have to look alike?” and the answer is clearly no. While visiting the interactive website, customers are allowed to select a model of their choice. Then, swatches are available for each leg and previewed on the model once selected. The concept is fun and smart. While this isn’t necessarily something that I would wear, it works for girls Josie’s age. What’s even more insane is that celebrities, like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga have already picked up on Oppos. And Josie’s celebrity base is about to get a whole lot bigger as Oppos is set t be featured at the Kid’s Choice Awards on March 29th in the 58 nominee’s “swag bags” that they will be gifted. I’d say that as a 10 year old who started her own company about a month ago, she is doing pretty well for herself. This story reminds us that no idea is too crazy and that you don’t know until you try.
