Being an Argentine woman, but having left the country at the young age of 7, I have always been intrigued by the news, occurrences, and events of my motherland left behind years ago. Since fashion is a subject I am passionate about, I never fail to explore this aspect of my country as well.

This is therefore how I found myself looking through emerging fashion and trends in my country of origin, falling upon a particular designer that appealed instantly to my feminine taste…

Maria Gorof is a young Argentine designer that creates evening as well as luxury wear. She was born in the country’s capital, Buenos Aires, and cultivated an interest in fashion from a very young age. She dedicated her youth to penetrating the industry, interning at the age of sixteen for the magazine Inter Country where she held a column as a journalist and began entering design contests.

Gorof completed her design studies attaining diplomas from several different schools across the country, whilst working as a model until the age of 21. The young woman then proceeded to opening her first atelier in Northern Buenos Aires where she remained a few years before moving to the commercial center in 2008.

Her brand has been steadily growing ever since, maintenance focus primarily on high-end customers. Gorof dresses many celebrities in Argentina and is a third time participant of Argentine fashion week BAAM.

At this fashion event Gorof has been described as “never failing to surprise” with elegant and luxurious haute couture collections inspired by French fashion houses such as Chanel, Paul Poiret, and Yves Saint Laurent among others.
