Eco-Blahniks

As a New Yorker freshly settled into the beautiful city of Paris, the transition back in 2007 was quite difficult. Some days, I returned to the big apple though late night Sex and the City marathons with my girlfriends.

The show brilliantly illustrated relationships between friends and lovers but most importantly revealed top new fashion trends. Carrie Bradshaw forever changed the game of fashion as she strutted down Park Avenue in her Manolo Blahniks.

An eco-friendly Manolo Blahniks shoe is definitely not something I would have expected to see during my lifetime, however in  2012, designer Marcia Patmos created a collection of spring sandals for the brand. Some of the materials included tilapia skins, cork and raffi.

Having developed a strong interest in eco-fashion over the years, this news has given me hope that top designer brands are developing an interest in producing more eco-friendly products.
