Alexander Wang, known for merging together Street Style with Couture, has definitely shown us that his clothes can be worn just about anywhere.
His new spring 2014 campaign went live last month with a large billboard in New York City, an online campaign, and in print magazines.
“Since the spring-summer 2014 collection plays on the duality of naïveté and perverse explicitness in youth culture, we wanted to shoot the campaign in a very familiar environment most people grow up reminiscing about. I loved blurring the lines between censorship and humor.” – Alexander Wang
I have to say, I really like the images. They are playful and really leave the mind to wonder what the rest of the collection looks like. This collection is all about complementation. The pastel shoes mixed with the harsh gray and neutrals of the fabrics are perfectly represented in the campaign images. Even the overall color tone is leaning towards the gray/blue scheme. This is amped up more by the amusing location of the photos.
He said he wanted to reflect the youth culture, well I think he did 🙂
