New column about food: use of quinoa

If there is in the world generally known alternative to traditional crops , this is quinoa . I would say that this  wonderful cereal is in the rank of the mainstream food that is really wonderful , because it does not contain gluten and is rich in proteins . Rarely a grain can boast of such properties! The more you consume quinoa instead of wheat , the better. Even if you are not quite sure how to pronounce the name of this plant .


Here are some interesting facts about quinoa. In fact, it’s not quite a grain , but rather , the seeds that give the same name a plant that grows on the slopes of  Andes in South America – in ancient times it was actively cultivated by  Incas ; therefore it is properly to pronounce the name as ” quinva.” Quinoa contains all nine essential amino acids , making it a complete protein . It is also rich in lysine , which promotes healthy tissue growth , and still is an excellent source of vitamin E, magnesium, iron and fiber. Impressive, isn’t it?Image
