Spanish label Delpozo is opening its first U.S. store on February 20th in Miami. Their new home will be at 35 N.E. 40th Street in the hub of all things art and fashion, The Design District.
The label is well known for its feminine yet modern styles. The designs have an emphasis on architecture, which comes as no surprise since Delpozo’s creative director, Josep Font used to be an architect. Considering his expertise, he is very involved with the store’s design. The 25,000 square feet jewel box shaped store features the label’s signature colors pale pink and black, with accents of glass, marble, brass and wood.
It is clear that the label isn’t just stopping here but has plans to expand throughout the world. According to Managing Director Ainhoa Garcia, “We are very pleased because for Delpozo, commercial development goes hand in hand with creative development. In less than a year, the house has achieved all its international goals included in our commercial strategy. Thanks to the support we have received from the first class department and concept stores, we are introducing the brand in key territories. Our aim now is to consolidate our presence through these points of sale.”
Font has successfully modernized and popularized Jesus del Pozo’s vision. His Fall 2013 show emphasized his unique look coined as “prêt-a-couture.” After the successful show, the label was picked up by numerous retailers, including Net-a-porter.com, DNA in Doha, Qater, and Ryadh, and Opening Ceremony in New York, London, and Los Angeles. With these previous accomplishments, there is no doubt that the launch of this international expansion will be a success.
